Come learn about the movement for community control of land from its roots in Georgia during the civil rights era to our local work across Greater Boston today. We’ll make art & enjoy dinner together and then watch the short documentary Arc of Justice about New Communities CLT in and mini films/clips highlighting CLT work Roxbury, Dorchester, Chinatown, and Chelsea. Member leaders from several CLTs will lead an interactive discussion, and there will be time for connecting with CLT members and friends from Roxbury and across the city. Interpretation & childcare provided.

Please bring an item from your land trust, neighborhood, or home to incorporate into our collective altar. In collaboration with a local artist, we will build an altar intended to honor the past, present, and future of the land on which our community land trusts stand. You’re invited to bring something that represents your hopes, memories, or connection to the land to add to the altar and make a sun print with, weather permitting. Local artists from Humphreys Street Studio will also share their work and the story of their unique studio space in Dorchester, owned & run by community artists.

Hosted by Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative & the Greater Boston CLT Network with Boston Neighborhood CLT, Comunidades Enraizadas CLT, Chinatown CLT & Highland Park CLT.

First Church in Roxbury is close to the Orange Line (Roxbury Crossing) and buses. There is street parking nearby.
