CSNDC is pleased to announce that it has acquired the vacant parcels of land formerly owned by the Archdiocese of Boston on Stanton Street in Dorchester and has begun the process of redeveloping the site. The property includes several buildings, including St. Matthews Church, which originally opened in 1923 and formally closed its doors in 2020.
CSNDC has assumed the current leases, which includes the St. Matthews Food Pantry and Wesley Child Care, under management by Winn Property Management.
The plan calls for a combination of 43 rental units for both families and seniors, and 28 homeownership units. The front façade of the church will be preserved while the rest of the building will be converted into commercial space, community space, management offices and residential housing.
