CSNDC’s neighbor, Codman Square Health Center, is recommending ways for residents to raise their voices to prevent harmful Medicaid cuts that would impact our most vulnerable neighbors. Here is what they say in their newsletter…

Medicaid is far more than a health insurance program—it is a lifeline for millions of people across the country and a critical part of the healthcare safety net in Massachusetts. At the core of this safety net are community health centers such as Codman, which provides comprehensive primary care to everyone, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.

Today, a range of federal proposals threaten to cut vitally important Medicaid funding. If these proposals go through, thousands of Massachusetts residents may lose their Medicaid coverage. If that happens, health centers will still provide care—but often without adequate reimbursement. This situation is financially unsustainable and could force centers to make difficult decisions: reducing services, cutting staff, or limiting access—all of which would harm the communities they serve.

Please make your voice heard and let your legislators know to keep Medicaid at current funding levels. You can click here to get the word to your legislators in just about 60 seconds.
