Talbot Commons I (TCI) is a 40-unit affordable rental property walking distance to the Talbot Ave stop on the Fairmount Indigo Line with a 500-square foot multi-use, ground floor community space.
Spread over two locations, the project features 19 new units and 21 adaptively renovated units in one-, two-, and three-bedroom configurations. Nine of the units will be part of the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (MRVP).
This sustainably designed project includes a rain garden to capture runoff and filter pollutants, and new construction will meet or exceed Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver and City of Boston green standards. As part of Boston’s Slow Streets project, new sidewalks will be built along the properties.
TCI is funded by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the City of Boston, an Enterprise Green Communities award, and multiple other funders. We are also partnering with the Massachusetts Association of CDCs and the Massachusetts Minority Contractors Association to track participation of minority- and women-owned businesses in the project.
