CSNDC's Executive Director and staff are dedicated to the neighborhood residents of the communities in which they serve and work tirelessly to enhance the quality of life for all.

 

Gail Latimore, Executive Director

Gail is a veteran of nonprofit management and development, with 25 years experience working in the public or nonprofit sector. She has served as the Executive Director of Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corp (CSNDC) since 1998. In this role, she has overall responsibility for the management, growth and health of this premier community development corporation. During Gail’s tenure, CSNDC has grown exponentially, expanding its service base to meet the needs of the community. Additionally, during this time, CSNDC has developed over 200 units of affordable housing, both homeownership and rental.

Gail holds a bachelors degree in Architecture from Columbia University and has completed coursework towards a master’s degree in Urban Affairs at Boston University. A founding Board member of the Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative, Gail continues to serves on several national, state, regional and local boards dedicated to responsible community development, including the National NeighborWorks Association, Metropolitan Boston Housing Partnership, the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations and the Four Corners Action Coalition.

Gail is married, with three children, including 14-year old twins and a 3 year old—all girls.

Vincent joined CSNDC in 2006 from a background of Property Development. As Accountant he provides financial oversight and controls over the accounting systems. Vincent holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

 

 

 

 

Veronica Truell, Community Mortgage Lender/Foreclosure Intervention

Veronica joined the CSNDC in July 2007. Her lending and counseling background gives her the ability to understand and work well with our clients. Veronica’s joy is in helping the community in which we serve. With the recent rise in foreclosures, she is continually helping those who have been hit the hardest with this economic crisis. Veronica also serves our clients who are seeking loans or grants for rehab or deleading work for their homes. She is currently facilitating Foreclosure Clinics, and will soon start “Rehab and First Time Homebuyer” classes. In addition to her community commitment, she is a Mom, Youth Ministry leader, and a student at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary’s Center for Urban Ministerial Education Leader.

Michelle joined CSNDC in January of 2006 as the Economic Development Assistant. Her responsibilities include administrative and marketing support for the NDC's Housing Services home improvement lending program, Financial Fitness, and Small Business assistance programs. Michelle joined CSNDC to help her community and neighbors. She is a Codman Square neighborhood resident and a 2002 graduate of Tuskeegee University in Alabama.

Keyna joined CSNDC in March 2000 as a Junior Accountant. She managed the Accounting Department after the departure of the Director of Accounting in March 2001 until a replacement was hired in March 2002. In May 2003 she moved to the Economic Development Department to staff the emerging Financial Literacy Program, after earning a Masters in Public Administration in May 2003.

C. Robert Springer brings 10 years of worth of experience in affordable housing and commercial real estate development to Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation.  Robert is the NDC’s Asset Manager oversees the organization’s portfolio of over 700 housing units and 50,000 square feet of commercial space.  He previously worked as AVP Real Estate / Financial Analyst at MassDevelopment, and he also worked at New Boston Fund.  These positions allowed him to work on several major mixed-use projects, including 100 Cambridge Street (599,000 SF of office + retail space, 75 units of for-sale housing) and One Brigham Circle (110,000 SF of office; 65,000 SF of retail).  Robert holds an MPP from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.  He concentrated in Housing, Urban Economic Development, and Transportation, and his Master’s thesis focused on preserving “Expiring Use” housing in Massachusetts.  Robert received his undergraduate degree in Political Science at Columbia University and was selected for the Ford Foundation’s Woodrow Wilson Fellowship in Public Policy and International Affairs.



 

 

Matt Henzy, Project Manager

Matt Henzy grew up in New London, CT and moved to Boston in 1988.  Matt was a tenant and community organizer for many years and transitioned to affordable housing development in 2003.  Before coming to CSNDC in September 2008, Matt worked for Mission Hill Neighborhood Housing Services for three years and for Neighborhood of Affordable Housing (East Boston) for seven years.  Matt earned a BA from the University of Connecticut in 1987 and a Masters in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University in 2002.  Matt volunteers for a variety of organizations and enjoys sports, exercise, and travel.  Matt lives with his wife Jamie in Jamaica Plain.
