Debashish Chakravarty, Project Manager
debashish@csndc.com

Debashish began his secondary educational career at Case Western Reserve University, majoring in International Studies and Spanish. He knew early on that he wanted to work for the public good. Debashish explored international relations initially, as can be inferred from his undergraduate major. While interesting, Debashish did not feel passionate about the subject. After graduating from Case Western, he entered the Coro Fellows Program in Pittsburgh, PA. Coro was a 9-month public policy fellowship, where people from different backgrounds explored various fields of pubic-decision making. For each field, the fellows were placed in an internship for a month, and for the business field Debashish was placed with an architectural firm. It was through this internship that Debashish learned about the development process, and gained an interest in real estate development.

The next year Debashish attended Carnegie Mellon University, to pursue a Master of Science in Public Policy and Management. He wanted to learn more about the development field while maintaining a mission-based focus, so the following summer he interned at the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh. It was there that he gained hands-on experience in actual development work, including developing proformas, orchestrating project management of multiple developments, community outreach, and completing funding applications among others. Debashish fell in love with the field, and decided to pursue development as a full-time career. During his career search, he applied to multiple organizations and CSNDC was ultimately the best fit.
